Oils, Body Masks & Heated Stones

Treatment materials are selected for the booked massage and may include aromatic oils, body or back masks, and heated basalt stones.

Massage ranges from light relaxation work to firm deep tissue pressure that targets specific knots. Which you want is worth saying at the start — pressure preference is the single thing clients most often stay quiet about and most often regret afterwards.

What to expect

  1. Intake

You are asked about problem areas, pressure preference, and anything to avoid — recent injuries, surgery, or areas that are simply off limits.

  2. Treatment

You undress to your comfort level and are draped throughout; only the area being worked on is uncovered. Say so at any point if the pressure is too much or too light.

  3. After

Get up slowly and drink water. Deep tissue work can leave you feeling like you have exercised for a day or so, which is normal.

04

Is it right for you?

Good for

  • Desk-related neck and shoulder tension
  • General stress and poor sleep
  • Muscle stiffness after exercise

Not suitable if

  • Fever or acute illness
  • Blood clots, or a condition where massage is medically discouraged — check with your doctor first
  • Recent surgery or acute injury in the area
  • Pregnancy without prior medical clearance

Downtime

None. Deep tissue work can leave muscles tender for a day, similar to after a workout.

Results

Immediate. Tension relief from a single session typically lasts several days to a couple of weeks, depending on whether the underlying cause — usually posture and workload — changes.

Common questions

What is the difference between Swedish and deep tissue massage?

Pressure and intent. Swedish massage uses lighter, flowing strokes aimed at relaxation. Deep tissue uses firmer, slower pressure to work into specific tight areas, and can be uncomfortable while it happens. If your goal is to switch off, Swedish; if it is a specific knot, deep tissue.

Should I say something if the pressure is wrong?

Yes, immediately. Therapists cannot feel what you feel, and adjusting is routine — it is not a complaint. Massage should not be something you endure.

Can I have a massage while pregnant?

Only with your doctor's clearance, and please tell us when booking rather than on arrival — positioning and technique need to be adapted, and not every appointment slot can accommodate that.

How much should I undress?

Whatever you are comfortable with. You are draped with towels throughout and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Many people keep underwear on; that is entirely normal.
